Birth-Deer Bash - Are you fawned of our deer at ONC? Doe are we! You’re invited to come celebrate the deer herd’s birthdays with a fun educational program featuring a deer-related craft and a chance to see and feed them some birthday treats!
------------
Birding 101 - Come learn how to identify birds of south Florida as we discuss characteristics such as foot and beak shape, flight silhouettes, coloration, diet, and habitats. Then practice your newfound knowledge during a naturalist-led walk around the nature center. Please bring binoculars, otherwise, loaners will be available.
------------
Remarkable Reptiles - Celebrate World Snake Day on July 16th by uncovering the truth about some of the world’s most misunderstood animals—reptiles. You’ll meet some of ONC’s reptile ambassadors and even get to watch a snake eat a meal!
------------
Turtley Tuesday - Turtles or tortoises…are they different? If so, how? During this program, you will learn about native turtles from the land and sea. Meet our fan favorites- the Gopher Tortoise and the Diamondback Terrapin, and watch some of our shelled friends eat a meal. This program is going to be turtley awesome!
------------
Tales & Tails: Opossums - Bring your little ones and join an Okeeheelee volunteer and Naturalist for story time with puppets! You will even get a close-up animal encounter with our Virginia opossum!
------------
ONC Behind the Scenes - The most relaxing part of our day is spent taking care of our animals. Come join us and our nonhuman “co-workers” by taking a tour of where the outdoor animals live when they are off the clock and help feed some of them.
------------
Creepy Crawlies - Some of the most overlooked, yet extremely important, critters in our ecosystem are those without a backbone- the invertebrates! In this program, we will talk about the benefits of these so called “pests”. You will get to meet a few spineless friends and go on a walk to look for butterflies, bees, and more!
------------
All ages welcome - anyone 3 and older who enters must pay.

Please check-in at the Greeter Desk inside the Nature Center.

Refund Policy: Refunds will only be issued if a class or activity is canceled. You will be notified of cancellations by e-mail or phone.
